Executive and Leadership Development

Executive coaching is an investment in your people and organization.

Coaching for Leadership Excellence

Executive and leadership coaching is a private and confidential engagement. With 2600+ coaching hours, Lynn establishes rapport and trust with leaders quickly. She provides value added insights into their approaches, style, behaviors and actions.

As a result, the executives Lynn has coached have stepped into increasing levels of responsibility; integrating into new roles successfully.

HOW COACHING WORKS

Our first discussion identifies clear outcomes – defined by you and/or your sponsor for the coaching engagement. While this may seem very simple, it requires that everyone – the coach, client and sponsoring organization be on the same page.

When working with certified Executive Coach Lynn Dessert, MCC,  her role does not replace or change your relationship with your boss. It is your responsibility to share ongoing progress – the level of detail is up to you. Throughout our engagement, we will meet with your sponsor quarterly to gain feedback on progress.

Below, find the most common steps in a coaching engagement:

Define our Starting Point

To measure how well you are doing against the agreed upon outcomes it is important to establish the baseline. Most often companies use 360◦ assessments when measuring leadership or personal style development. Lynn is certified in the Benchmarks, a 360-degree assessment from the Center for Creative Leadership or Hogan Instrument’s 360 assessment, two highly recognized and valued assessment tools. Assessments are administered at the beginning and sometimes end of the coaching engagements as a measurement of ROI.

Assessing the Situation

Many executives need additional information to help them pin point what is not working. Lynn uses several industry standard assessment tools, including Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), and the Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument (HBDI). Additional feedback may be drawn from your boss, peers, and subordinates regarding your strengths and areas of opportunities. Together, we will identify and craft strategies to move to the level of mastery in your key development areas.

Together, we create accountability for your development by establishing milestones and timelines to insure a smoother implementation.

Breaking through the Obstacles

How well do you receive feedback from your customers, subordinates, peers, and boss? Are you concerned about what others might think about your ideas before you have had time to flush all the details out? Lynn is your sanity check and sounding board for new ideas and approaches. She will challenge your thinking – enabling you to get past any blind spots that are impacting your performance and growth. Communicate More Effectively

Flexible styles of communication are critical to establishing rapport and gaining support to advance ideas, projects and people.
Z

Influence Others

The ability to influence others entails many aspects of the executive’s personal makeup (culture, politics, communication, relationships, personality) and how they mange it within the organization.

Lead with Compassion

In today’s environment, compassion, trust and approachability solidify employee and organizational commitment. How are your leaders showing up?
